“ | People like you worry about what's justice and what isn't, I can't say I hate people like that. | ” |
Takemitsu Mikazuchi (三日土 竹光, Mikazuchi Takemitsu) served as the Chief of the 'Special Kajin Analysis Team' and was the supervisor of Shintaro Jagasaki. One day, he became infected with a frenzied tadpole, transforming him into a Fractured Human Warrior and leading him to meet his Partner, the Crested Kingfisher B.B.. During his tenure as Chief, he was partnered with an undercover specialist agent, Nakadai. Recently, however, he has assumed command of the Black Oni Corps as their leader, The Black Oni, after striking a deal with Nomans Nomen to resurrect his son Kimihito Mikazuchi.
Appearance[]
Mikazuchi is a tall man with a spiky undercut hairstyle. He typically wears black trousers, a button-up vest with a tie, and a white button-up shirt. He is often seen chewing on a piece of pencil lead, much like one would chew on a toothpick.
Personality[]
Mikazuchi is an intelligent yet cold and distant individual who recognizes Jagasaki's potential as an ally. However, he resorts to using the head of his deceased girlfriend, Yuriko Ishizaka, as leverage to coerce him into joining S.K.A.T.. His cunning is further demonstrated when he feigns death after being shot in the head, allowing him to observe Kudarantula and uncover the secret behind his webbing. After subduing Kudarantula and hearing his desperate pleas for mercy—despite having just shot Mikazuchi—he feels a surge of anger. In response to Kudarantula's begging, Mikazuchi dismisses his life as "second-rate" and beheads him with a carbon sword.
Following this confrontation, it becomes clear that Mikazuchi does not recognize half-fractured humans as truly human, despite their sanity. When presented with the opportunity by Nomans Nomen to resurrect his son, he quickly demonstrates his willingness to sever all ties with others to secure his son's life. While not inherently evil, he is determined to do whatever it takes to uphold the bargain he made with the Deader Land Area King.
In the end, after being spared by Jagasaki, Mikazuchi reveals a self-sacrificial aspect of his personality. When his son asks him to help Jagasaki, he makes the profound decision to sacrifice his own life to protect Jagasaki, fully aware that this choice is highly likely to leave his revived son alone, an outcome that starkly contrasts with his long-held desire to live together with him.
Powers and Abilities[]
Police Training[]
Mikazuchi has undergone both physical and mental training to manage stressful situations. As a police officer, he is skilled in firearms and hand-to-hand combat.
Hardening Carbon[]
Infected by the frenzied tadpole, Mikazuchi can generate a layer of carbon beneath his skin and create carbon objects, such as swords. This carbon is ten times harder than diamond, rendering it impervious to most attacks. However, he must continuously consume carbon in the form of graphite from pencil lead to maintain his abilities; the more he consumes, the more he can produce.
Carbon Wave[]
It would also seem that he is now capable of, after ingesting large amounts of graphite, forcing out a large amount of spiked carbon in a devastating wave after stabbing his sword into the ground.
Transformations[]
Fractured Human Warrior[]
Mikazuchi's second form marks the beginning of significant transformations. In this state, he can convert parts of his body beneath the skin into carbon, providing protection against nearly any attack. He cleverly uses this ability to absorb what would typically be a fatal blow, feigning death to catch his enemy off guard. Even in battle, Mikazuchi can withstand all damage, as the carbon composition of his body is ten times harder than diamond. Additionally, he can create carbon weapons, such as swords or kunai, which are as indestructible as he is and can be honed to razor-sharp edges, capable of beheading someone with a single strike in some instances. However, it is evident that his carbon weapons are not infallible; for example, when Shintarou Jagasaki blocks Mikazuchi's carbon sword with Jagan in its pistol form, a large spark occurs, but no significant dent is left on Jagan.
The Black Oni (Half-Fractured Human)[]
After his son is revived by Nomans Nomen, Mizakuchi decides to ally with him and becomes his Second in Command of DDL. During this time, he reveals his third form, undergoing a striking transformation; his carbon skin resembles armor that entirely envelops his body. An Oni mask conceals his face, while a long mane of white fur or hair flows down his back. At first glance, he might appear completely fractured, but it’s revealed that he can shift back and forth between this new transformation. Following this change, his control over his carbon dramatically improves, allowing him to extend it outward in the form of spikes that can cover any part of his body.
