Mad Xenopus (マッドゼノパス Maddozenopasu?), or Frenzied Frogs (キチガエル Kichigaeru?) as Doku refers to them, are a mysterious species of frog drawn to human desires, contributing to the phenomenon of fractured humans in the world of Jagaaaaaan. If a fractured human is killed, the frog escapes the cadaver in search of a new host. This makes it essential for a fractured human warrior's partner to kill and consume the frog after it has left the host, to prevent the emergence of another fractured human, potentially stronger than the previous one. Doku explains that these frogs were released by an unknown alien race on Earth throughout human history to collect data on human desire. Once a human is infected by a frenzied frog, the frog enters an incubation period, which determines the overall strength of the resulting fractured human based on the duration of this period. This duration is influenced by how well the host controls their desires. These insights, along with others about the frenzied frogs, were discovered by Misogi Hakuto. He refers to his findings as the Theory of Peace, suggesting that the relationship between the frogs' feeding side effects can be expressed as (Incubation Period + Control of Desires = Strength as a Fractured Human).
After the demise of Nomen and apparent death of Chiharu, 90% of the Frenized Frogs are either destroyed or captured.
Frenzied Frogs

Frenzied Frogs represent the fully matured stage of the frenzied frog life cycle. They are attracted to humans exhibiting destructive impulses, such as wrath and pride. These frogs can cause their hosts to become fractured humansFractured Human. This transformation results from the frogs feeding on the host's inner impulses and desires, regardless of whether those desires are positive or negative. Once a host fractures, they become extremely violent towards their surroundings and those around them, a reaction that occurs irrespective of the specific desire the frenzied frog is exploiting. As the frogs feed on the host's emotions and grow, their appearance adapts to reflect the host's new form, taking on characteristics similar to the fractured human. If the host is killed while the frog has assumed these traits, the next host will inherit those characteristics, albeit slightly altered by their own desires and imagination. It remains unclear whether the frog's appearance changes again after it finds a new host or if its features are permanent after its first host. Once the frog has consumed enough of the host's desires—either by incubating for a sufficient duration or by allowing the host to fulfill many of their desires—it can undergo further growth, enabling the host to become an evolved fractured human. This evolution enhances the host's physical abilities, including increased mass, new offensive and/or defensive capabilities, and regenerative abilities. These enhancements likely result from the excess desires consumed by the frog, providing the necessary nutrition for transformation and allowing the host to act on their desires more effectively, thereby generating more sustenance for the frog.
Frenzied Tadpoles

Frenzied Tadpoles are the juvenile stage of frenzied frogs and are drawn to humans with virtuous impulses, such as Justice and Regret. They can transform their hosts into fractured human warriors, rather than regular fractured humans. This transformation allows the hosts to retain their humanity and typically grants them powers that exceed those of an average fractured human.
Tadpoles appear to be less dependent on feeding off desires, which helps fractured human warriors maintain their humanity. However, using the powers granted by the tadpole will gradually lead to the host becoming a full fractured human, as this is how the tadpole feeds on their desires. Alternatively, the tadpole can mature into an adult frog if left for an extended period. Early symptoms of a tadpole's maturation in the host include dizziness, lightheadedness, heart palpitations, shortness of breath, and hallucinations.
To halt the maturation of a frenzied tadpole, the host can absorb the powder of a Duhnng-Ball through the mucous membrane or exert their will to stop the process. However, these are only temporary solutions, as the tadpoles can adapt to them and mature more quickly each time their growth is interrupted. This creates a race for the host to eliminate more frenzied frogs than the tadpole can mature.
If fully matured, following the Theory of Peace's formula and considering the inherent strength of their hosts, these former tadpoles can potentially empower a host capable of killing thousands, surpassing the killing capacity of an evolved fractured human. This situation can worsen if the tadpole is fed enough to trigger an evolution within the now fractured human, further increasing their already significant killing potential.
Frenzied Froglets

Frenzied Froglets are adolescent frenzied frogs drawn to humans with selfish impulses such as Lust, Envy, and Revenge. They resemble fully matured frenzied frogs but still retain a tadpole's tail. Froglets transform their hosts into half-fractured humans, who possess the powers of a fractured human while maintaining the ability to revert to their human form for camouflage. These froglets achieve their hosts' desires by allowing them to retain their humanity, enabling them to blend in more effectively while providing powers suited to their lifestyles. For example, Motomu Robahata uses his aphrodisiac tongue to fulfill his desires (such as raping women) without being detected. Froglets seem to be more stable than their tadpole counterparts, as they can remain at their current stage of maturity while still bestowing destructive power. However, it is still possible for a half-fractured human to go berserk and lose control, as seen with Kimihito Mikazuchi. It remains unclear whether the froglet matures further during this process.
Gargatuan Frenzied Frog

The Gargatuan is responsible for giving birth to frenzied froglets. It sustains itself by feeding on the brain chemicals provided by the bracelets worn by the guests of Deadland. Its appearance is that of a large, grotesque frenzied frog, characterized by a swollen body, bulging eyes, and a tongue that hangs out of its mouth. Several long limbs extend from the creature, accompanied by a long tail that coils beneath it. The Gargatuan Frenzied Frog was created by Chiharu Matsuyamachi.
